Apple Picking

A week ago I took the boys apple picking, they were so excited. Who do you think picked all the apples? That's right, mom. They were into it for the first five minutes then they became more interested in eating the apples, telling me what to put in their basket and running away from bees.

Backseat Drivers

We were driving home the other night and a van started moving into our lane, my husband laid on the horn and from the back seat we hear, "crazy old lady" and "watch it lady."

Chivalry

So I asked Jack if he had made any friends at school and he told me about his friend Ava. He said they play on the playground together in the dirt. They were playing the other day and a boy came over and kicked dirt on them, Jack said he brushed dirt off Ava's dress so she wouldn't have to take a bath.

School Days

My oldest son Jack started Pre-K today, he was so excited. I felt a little anxious for him but didn't let on, it was all cool. He put his backpack away then rushed inside, he came back and peeped his head outside the door and blew me a kiss, "bye mom."

When I picked him up he ran out of the class and almost knocked me down. We hugged and he told me he really missed me. When we got home, I wanted to carry him from the car to the house but I felt that might hinder the big boy progress, so I tackled him when we got inside and I gave him big hugs and smooches.

Strange Anatomy

Over the weekend we were with some friends who had 6 month old twin girls. Sam was watching one of them get their diaper changed when he asked, "Mom, where is her penis?, She doesn't have one honey," I replied. He said, "Oh, yeah, she's a baby."

Grooming Woes

The other day, Sam (3), was brushing his teeth. His dad went over and started combing his hair, Sam started moving my husband's hand off his head. Sam and the hand were fighting, when Sam finally said, "stop dad, your ticking me off."

I have no idea where he came up with that comment. We buzzed his hair last night.

Brotherly Love

The other day at the pool,  Jack asked me to go with him to ask the lifeguard for a kick board. I told him he didn't need me, "get your brother to go with you," I said. "No, mom I need a human to go with me."

What does he think about Sam?

Mischief

Recently my boys have ...well been boys.
Sam found a pencil and decided to display his gift for sketching on the dining room wall.Jack pulled off his brothers pj bottoms (that is another story) and started throwing them around. They landed on the chandelier and after some time, almost caught fire.

"Button on my Bottom"

Tonight Sam reminded me of a conversation we had a couple of nights ago. He told me he needs a button on his bottom so when he needs to poop, he can push the button. Where does he come up with this stuff? I give him credit for ingenuity.

Say What?

Remember the song from Top Gun, "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins, Sam, as a future rock star was singing but he sings, "I went to the danga dong" At least that is what it sounds like. When even practiced several times correctly, still "danga dong".

Some of his favorite songs are "No One" by Alicia Keys, "Boom Boom Cow", no that is not about a farm it is the song by the Black Eyed Peas. He also likes, "I Wanna Rock with You" Michael Jackson and songs from the show "Yo Gabba Gabba"

Jack also likes "Yo Gabba Gabba" songs as well as "Three Little Birds" Bob Marley, "Hungry Like the Wolf" Duran Duran and "Here We Go" Grits.

For the record, I have no Kenny Loggins songs on my ipod.

Pants on the ground

Well, this weekend was the beginning of summer for us, the pool opened. We were there all weekend, Jack is already working a tan and Sam is now off white and working his way toward beige. The boys have blisters on their toes from the bottom of the pool and I am washing chlorine out of our towels and bathing suits daily. Sam has some cute bathing trunks we call his, "Magnum suit" because we have to roll them up making them shorter than usual, they don't fit around the waist because he is so skinny and they are size 24 months. As we were leaving the pool Sam bent over and you guessed it his white briefs were covering his wet bottom and his pants were on the ground. The baby pool got a good laugh.

My Little Graduate

My oldest graduated from pre-school the other day. He has really learned a lot. He went from not being able to hold a pencil to knowing how to write all of his letters. He made lots of friends and I will miss his teachers, what wonderful blessings in his life!

Career Aspirations

Jack told me this week he wants to be a doctor, something he told me when I had an appointment with my ENT Dr. Jack likes to help people feel better and use all the cool instruments like the ones the doctor was sticking up my nose and ears. He told me the next day, he wants to be a doctor and a cleaner. The day after that, he told me he wants to be a doctor and hair cutter.

Sam wants to be a rockstar.

Nakedness

Yesterday, while out on my balcony talking to a friend, Sam came out with his shirt on but no shorts or underwear. He then proceeded to prop his one leg up onto his tricycle so we could all have a good view.
Last night, after bathing, the boys ran into the living room and started dancing around before they were dressed, I guess they like the freedom. Jack has a new dance we call the "bum bum dance." If you ever see it you won't have to ask where we got the name but I swear we have never taken him to a strip club.

The why

I have decided to finally start blogging so my family and friends can keep up with our goings on and to provide some humor to those who need a laugh.

Really Boys?

Yesterday the boys went to a birthday party. Sam got in three fights and told one of the people "no" when she asked him to get off the slide. We had the problem children, I was said glad I wasn't there but my husband was- hehe.

Thursday Sam went poop in his pants during nap time. I heard some commotion in the bathroom and when I went to check what was going on, I found Sam with poop on his legs, poop on the toilet, poop on the floor and a hand towel that was soaking wet, (it had been placed in the toilet and taken out). I wanted to turn around and walk out. When I asked what had happened, he told me he was cleaning up his poop. Oh that's great Sam, I would much rather you take the time to clean up the crap mess than just poop in the potty.
